Kemenkominfo Holds Bimtek on Management of Government Social Media

The Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kemenkominfo) held Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on Government Social Media Management regarding the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

The activity held at the Sultan Hotel, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Gelora, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta was attended by the Indonesian Information and Communication Agencies (Kominfotik).

Governance and Public Communication Partnership Director, Hasyim Gautama said Hasyim Gautama said the ASEAN Summit meeting is a great achievement for Indonesia.

This momentum was deemed not to be missed by continuing to build a good nation branding in the eyes of the public.

"The ASEAN Summit will be held on September 5-7, 2023 in Jakarta," he expressed, Tuesday (8/29).

He explained, unlike the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo last May, the Summit in Jakarta was not only attended by leaders of member countries of regional organizations, but also heads of state from ASEAN partner countries.

Through the theme 'ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth', Indonesia is committed to direct ASEAN cooperation in 2023 to continue and strengthen ASEAN's relevance in responding to regional and global challenges and by strengthening ASEAN's position as the center of regional economic growth for the prosperity of ASEAN people.

To realize it, there should be a strategy and pattern of good communication planning in optimizing the socialization and dissemination of information related to Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN. Thus, it could achieve success again like the holding of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.

"Bimtek is very important to improve the ability of government social media managers," he expressed.

He mentioned today's bimtek was participated by 400 participants with details of 100 offline participants and 300 online participants. After participating in technical guidance, managers of government-owned social media were expected to speed up the delivery of information related to the 43rd ASEAN Summit 2023 creatively and effectively.

On that occasion, three winners of ASEAN Content Active Dissemination 2023 from three categories were also announced. The Ministry category was won by the Ministry of State Secretariat. The Institution category was won by the State Secretariat and the Provincial Category was won by the Southeast Sulawesi Kominfotik Agency.

Southeast Sulawesi Kominfotik Agency Representative, Ridwam Badallah was very happy to receive this award amidst budget constraints.

"Two years ago, I formed a team by recruiting creative graduate students to become contract workers," he explained.

Besides making designs, the students also socialized digital literacy to the people of Southeast Sulawesi.

"We echo information about the ASEAN Summit through social media. We make the most of it," he stated.
